REPORTS TO: Senior Pastor
PURPOSE: To demonstrate compassion on behalf of Hillcrest toward any active member or family members thereof, who are bereaved due to a death in the member’s family
ORGANIZATION/MEMBERS/STRUCTURE:
- Team Leader
- Vice Leader
- 4 Group Captains
- 4 Assistant Group Captains
- 30-40 Volunteers in each Group
TERM OF SERVICE:
- Team Leader and Vice Leader serve a 5-year term
- Group Captains and Assistant Captains serve a 3-year term
- Volunteers have no time limit on service
QUALIFICATIONS:
- All Leaders and Captains must be active members of Hillcrest
- Volunteers must have a heart for service, a willingness to serve in a Group, and availability
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Minister to families by providing a meal on the day of the funeral, provided the funeral is within Coffee County
- Furnish a side dish as needed, serve the meal, and/or prepare the room for the family meal
- Attend annual training
SCRIPTURE: (Hebrews 13:16) And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
